CRICKET: Right arm medium pacer Shaveendra Amaradasa continued
his form with the ball when he captured 5 for 6 to bowl Matale Cricket
Club to an easy first innings win over old Servatius Sports Club in
their Sri Lanka cricket’s under 23 cricket tournament match played at
the Badulla Esplanade over the weekend.
Batting first Old Servatius Sports Club were dismissed for a paltry
49 with Shaveendra Amaradasa doing the damage taking 5 for 6 of 9 overs
and 4 of them being maidens.
The Matale being in their second essay fared much better to score 231
for 8 with skipper Mohamed Munsif top scoring with a hard hit 93 with 10
fours and 3 sixes. Shaveendra Amaradasa again bowled will to capture 4
for 70 to wind up with a match haul of 9 for 76. He has now captured
over 40 wickets in this tournament.
