Nedumarn should urge LTTE to negotiate - Jeyaraj
COLOMBO: The Government yesterday said the Tamil Nadu politician,
Nedumaran, should compel the LTTE to come to negotiations with the
Government, instead of trying to provoke Tamils.
At the weekly situation briefing yesterday, Highways Minister Jeyaraj
Fernandopulle said the prices of commodities have gone up in the North
due to the LTTE activities.
“The LTTE is levying taxes. They are attacking the ships conveying
food stuffs to Jaffna,” the Minister said the Tamil Nadu politician
should talk LTTE into stopping these actions, which has led to the
increase in the prices, if he was genuinely interested in the grievances
of the Tamil people.
The Minister alleged that Nedumaran and his allay Vaiko are both
bankrupt politicians looking for some publicity at the cost of Sri
Lanka’s national security. |
