Aston Martin disclosure soon - Jeyaraj
COLOMBO: The Government yesterday denied Opposition accusation that a
top Government Minister or a relative was involved in the import of the
super luxury, Aston Martin DB9 to Sri Lanka.
“Rajapaksa Samagama or Puthra Samagama’ is not involved in that at
all. We have now found out who brought this car down and we will reveal
all the details in due course,” Highways Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle
told reporters at the weekly situation briefing yesterday.
He said this was the latest of a series of baseless allegations
levelled at the Head of the Government, allegedly, a campaign led by
SLFP dissident Sripathi Sooriyarachchi.
“Earlier, they accused that the President purchased millions of
rupees worth, mansion at Battaramulla.
Then a member of the ‘Sahodara Samagama’ bought off from the former
Australian High Commission. Later, they accused Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was
building a hotel near Sinharaja Forest.”
“All these verbal barrages were ultimately proved untrue. The latest
of their mud campaign is the luxury car.” |
