Sri Lanka in superb 55-44 win over Canada

NETBALL: Sri Lanka put up a splendid performance to beat Canada 55-44
in their Asian Invitation netball tournament match worked off at the Toa
Payoh Sports Hall in Singapore yesterday.
Sri Lanka took a close 16-14 lead at the end of the first quarter and
went on to lead 29-28 at half time.
In the third quarter the Lankans consolidated their position to
increase their lead to 41-38 and added the finishing touches during the
final quarter.
Tharjani Sivalingam did the bulk of the scoring with a superb
contribution of 43 goals from 45 attempts while Shashika Samarasinghe
added 12 goals from 15 attempts. |
