Training in construction sector for school leavers

COLOMBO: The Construction Training and Development Institute
will start training courses for school leavers on the directives of
Construction and Engineering Services Minister Rajitha Senaratne.
They will be trained as construction technicians, labour management
officers, co-ordinating officers and quality controllers in the
construction sector. Their overall training of one year will comprise
two months in-house training, nine months practical training and one
month theoretical training.
The apprentices are entitled to a monthly allowance of Rs. 5,000
during the training.
They will be absorbed into the construction sector as permanent
employees in the construction industry for the salary of Rs. 10,000 and
with all other benefits on completion of training.
Applications are now available at the Construction Training and
Development Institute, No 123, Sausiripaya, Wijerama Road Colombo 07.
