A/L marking to resume

COLOMBO: The Department of Examinations has arranged to commence the marking of GCE Advanced Level answer scripts.

The Commissioner General of Examinations, Anura Edirisinghe said the marking of A/L answer scripts will start shortly in 37 marking centres.

The Department of Examinations apprised the teachers about the process of paper marking yesterday at a special meeting conducted by the department, said Edirisinghe.

Dismissing newspaper reports that the teachers were not present at yesterday's meeting on A/L answer script marking, Edirisinghe said around 2,000 teachers participated at the meeting concerned.

He also said that there would be no change in the dates of GCE Ordinary Level and A/L examinations sequel to the delay experienced in A/L paper marking this year.

The Ordinary Level examinations will be held in December this year as scheduled, he said.
