Ten junior shuttlers off to Iran

BADMINTON: A Ten member junior Badminton team will take part at the
1st West Asian Junior Badminton Championships scheduled to be held from
September 6 to 10 in Tehran, Iran. Five boys and five girls of under 19
age category have been selected for this tour based on their
performances after the trial matches said Manager of the team Jagath
Patabandi.
Two shuttlers of Ananda College Colombo and two from Musaeus College
have been included for this team while few other players from
outstations areas.
The junior shuttlers from West Asian region with three South Asian
countries will take part at this tournament which will organised for the
first time.
It would be great chance to our juniors to gain international
experience as well as they have good chance to win the matches said tour
Manager Patabandi who is the senior official of the Sri Lanka Schools
Badminton Association.
