Sri Lanka hope to give a better display against Canada

NETBALL: Sri Lanka will be hoping to put up an improved performance when they confront Canada in their second match of the Asian netball tournament at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall in Singapore today.

Sri Lanka suffered a crushing 28-70 defeat at the hands of Trinidad and Tobago in their opening fixture but are determined to bounce back with a better performance. Trinidad and Tobago are placed tenth in the World Rankings while Sri Lanka are placed 18th in the World Rankings.

Sri Lanka are expected to make a couple of changes for today’s game and should be able to stretch the strong Canadian team who are placed 21st in the World Rankings.

Sri Lanka will be banking heavily on their star player Tharjani Sivalingam and Shashika Samarasinghe who did the bulk of the scoring in their previous outing. Sri Lanka’s third and final match of the tournament will be against the hosts Singapore on Friday.
