Exclusive Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) for cardmembers:

American Express Credit Card facility extended

Nations Trust Bank, sole issuer of American Express Cards in Sri Lanka, launched an exclusive Internet Payment Gateway [IPG] for their cardmembers recently.

The launch was also marked by the formal agreement with e tickets, as the first partner merchant, offering American Express Cardmembers the convenience of booking their theatre or movie tickets online.

Speaking at the launch, Director / CEO of Nations Trust Bank Zulfiqar Zavahir said that the fastest-growing segment of credit card use today was in card-not-present transactions in which a customer makes his or her purchase via the internet instead of being physically present at the merchant location.

"We staunchly believe in offering innovative solutions to our valued customers and the launch of an internet payment gateway is just the beginning of many new exciting things cardmembers can look forward to."

Trust Bank's Head of American Express Cards, Priyantha Talwatte said that a Cardmember simply has to log on to www.etickets.lk select the seats, confirm the order and choose American Express as the mode of payment. Then they will be processed in a secure manner through the American Express Internet Payment gateway in real time."

"Through this website cardmembers may purchase their favourite cinema or selected drama tickets well in advance thus ensuring your seats and avoiding the hassle of waiting in long queues" said Talwatte. "Once an online purchase is made, a confirmation on the booking is sent as an SMS to a mobile phone. A cardmember simply has to show the text message to gain entrance. It's really as simple as that," he added.

In the spirit of the promotion Nations Trust Bank also gave away 100 free tickets for the first 100 American Express Cardmembers who purchased tickets for the movies 'Rush Hour 3' and 'Transformers'.

Introducing E- Tickets - an innovative facility to Sri Lanka, General Manager of Ceylinco Internet Services expressed his delight on the partnership with a world renowned brand such as American Express.
