Check Point Software, Ceylinco tie-up for threat management appliances

Check Point Software Technologies together with Ceylinco Networking Technologies, its authorised distributor for Sri Lanka, launched a powerful line of unified threat management (UTM) appliances, called UTM-1, for medium-sized businesses and enterprises in Sri Lanka, yesterday.

UTM-1 security appliances are a unique, tailored solution based on Check Point’s proven enterprise security expertise and the company’s vision of Unified Security Architecture for businesses. The appliances are easily deployed and can be centrally controlled to help simplify management for multiple sites, while providing the same uncompromising level of security used to secure the networks of Fortune 1000 Companies.

“With limited budgets, IT skills and resources, SMEs need products that are easy to adopt and maintain. Check Point’s UTM-1 line will enable medium-sized businesses and departmental level offices to take advantage of all the security and productivity benefits of our enterprise solutions, in a platform specifically designed for their environment,” Country Sales Manager, India and SAARC, Check Point Software Technologies Bhaskar Bakthavatsalu said.

“Check Point is a global security leader and its worldwide leader in Firewall and Gate ways. It has 14 years of security leadership. Their commitments are protected, unified, reliable and extensible. More than ten integrated security applications are envisaged in one device Check Point 2007 new UTM product” he added.

“We at CNT are proud to represent Check Point in Colombo and the SAARC region. This step taken jointly by Check Point and CNT to launch the new UTM appliances and End Point Security will empower us further to provide total internet security solutions to our clientele” Director/General Manager of Ceylinco Networking Technologies, Sanjaya Padmaperuma said.

Beyond protecting against traditional threats through tightly integrated security features the system include a stateful-inspection firewall, IPSec VPN, gateway antivirus and anti-spy ware, and intrusion prevention.
