Ganguly:

Govt. condoles

COLOMBO:Information and Media Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa expressed condolences on behalf of the Government regarding the death of Dilip Ganguly, a veteran Indian journalist of the American International News Agency Associated Press who has done a great service to Journalism in Sri Lanka for last 10 years.

Addressing the weekly-Press Briefing yesterday the Minister said Ganguly passed away on Sunday in India. He made a name for himself with his coverage of the 1991 Iraq War.

He is a well-experienced journalist. His career had taken him around the world and he had shown repeatedly through his hard work. Ganguly was took charge of AP’s Kolkata Bureau in April after serving in Sri Lanka for a decade.
