Dr. Sarath Amunugama in discussion with Chairman ShinKwan Group, S.
P. Tao.

Tao is a longstanding investor in property development. Currently the
landmark project of the ShinKwan Group is the World Trade Centre,
Colombo’s tallest building, an office complex and commercial centre that
houses many of the leading State and private sector organisations in Sri
Lanka.
The twin towers also house banks, airline offices, shops, restaurants
and of course the Colombo Stock Exchange.
The World Trade Centre, one of the most prestigious BOI projects, is
the first high rise building to be completed. But others are in various
stages of construction in Colombo and its suburbs and the Colombo
skyline will be radically changed in a few years from now.
The next significant project of the ShinKwan Group is the Havelock
City project which is an investment of US$ 250 million. The ShinKwan
Group has stated that the Havelock City Project will spearhead Sri
Lanka’s future role as the commercial crossroads of China, the Middle
East and South Asia.
Tao in an earlier release by the ShinKwan Group said, he believed
that Sri Lanka is ideally positioned to be China’s Showcase to this part
of the World. |
