Boost for tourism in Bentota

KAHAWA: The Sri Lanka Tourist Board (SLTB) has decided to boost
tourism in Bentota. The aim of the SLTB is to increase the flow of
tourists into the area.
As a promotion land has been allocated in villages such as Induruwa,
Mullegoda, Galagama, Yalegoda, Galabada, Athuruwella, Warahena,
Haburugala and Dedduwa for the project. An extent of 1,600 acres is
allocated of which 1,400 acres are fallow paddy fields.
The aim of the project is cleaning and clearing of canals, protecting
the area from floods, protecting the natural environment, giving
priority to development, controlling the indiscriminate filling of lands
and cutting down trees. |
