Malaysian envoy’s services lauded
COLOMBO: The Young Women Muslim Association (YWMA) appreciated the
services of outgoing Malaysian High Commissioner Nazeer a Hussain by
hosting a farewell lunch at the YMMA headquarters in Colombo.
YWMA president Jennath Ismail, YMMA President Jiffry Haniffa, ex
President Khalid Farook and the members participated.
The YWMA members visited Malaysia to study the cultural diversity and
heritage of Muslim community and shared their ideas in various fields
such as health religion, economy and education or an invitation by
Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (MYMM).
It also helped the YWMA members in gaining first hand information of
the strategies and plans implemented by the Malaysian Government for the
uplift of its people within the framework of Islamic principles.
A group of youngsters participated in a leadership programme
organised by various movements in Malaysia in May this year.
Since its Independence, Malaysia has become one of the leading Asian
countries which is highly developed in science and technology.
The YWMA expects to uphold and foster the existing friendship and
understanding with Malaysia. |
