Ranaviru Gammana for Forces personnel

COLOMBO: The Government will construct 50,000 houses for
Security Forces personnel serving in the North and East operational
areas.
This project will be conducted under the theme ‘Ranaviru Gammana’
(War Heroes Villages) by the National Building and Estate Infrastructure
Development Ministry.
The first Ranaviru Gammanaya will be constructed at Kapugolle, in
Horowpathana in a 600-acre land.
This Ranaviru Gammanaya will consist of 5,000 houses. Around 3,000
houses will be built in the preliminary stage, Nation Building and
Estate Infrastructure Development Minister S.M. Chandrasena said.
The construction of these houses will be completed within one year.
Each house worth Rs.1.45 million has all facilities including
electricity and water.
In addition, the Ranaviru housing scheme will have a bus stand,
dispensary, playground, wide access roads and other infrastructure
facilities.
Security personnel working in the operational areas are entitled to
get houses from the Ranaviru Gammana on a nominal monthly instalment
basis. |
