Mihin Lanka to launch catering service

CATERING SERVICE: Mihin Lanka will start a special catering service
in their flights in a bid to provide a quality meal for onboard
passengers, Chief Executive Officer, Sajin Vass Gunewardena told the
Daily News.
“With the commencement of the catering arm we could give a quality
meal at a reasonable price to Mihin Air passengers,” Vass Gunawardena
said.
Mihin Lanka being the Sri Lanka’s first low-cost airline launched its
inaugural flight to Bangkok June 23 will fly to Bangkok thrice a week.
From August daily flights are scheduled to Bangkok to promote
business and Buddhist tourists, he said.
At present, Mihin Lanka is flying to Dubai, Male and Buddagaya, and
it’s in the process of expanding the frequencies to Trichchi and
Trivendrum and daily flights to Bangkok, the CEO said.
According to the Sri Lanka Tourist Board, more than 5000 Thai
tourists’ arrive Sri Lanka annually, which is expected to increase its
number with the launch of daily flights to Bangkok.
At the launch of the inaugural flight to Bangkok Minister of
Thailand’s Tourism and Sports Suwit Khankiti said that the launching of
Mihin Lanka is an excellent initiative for the promotion of Sri Lanka’s
tourism.
