Bad weather affects SLT networks

COLOMBO:Sri Lanka Telecom’s telecommunication networks in Central, Uva, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Western and Southern Provinces have been affected due to the bad weather, a release said yesterday.

SLT telephone and data services in there provinces are affected by optical fiber cable cuts and commercial power failures.

Customers in Ahaspokuna, Doluwa, Rattota, Galagedara, Medamahanuwara, Akurana, Ambuluwawa, Pallegama, Pilimathalawa, Handessa, Muruthalawa, Gampola, Rangala, Katugastota, Padiyapelella, Maturata, Kandapola, Norwood, Kotagala, Maskeliya, Bogawanthalawa, Bandarawela, Badulla, Bulathsinhala, Meehitiya, Galle and Hambantota areas connected to SLT telephone exchanges are experiencing a service interruption.

SLT’s emergency maintenance staff are engaged in the restoration process.
