Turnover tops Rs. 120 million
CSE: The Colombo Stock Market was somewhat volatile like the previous
days and was able to secure a total turnover of Rs 123.92 million
yesterday, sources said.
Yesterday 4.57 million shares were traded and the All Share Price
Index went up by 1.6 points while the Milanka Price Index took a dip by
1.7 points.
During the day the top traded volumes share wise were, Ceylon Glass
1.65 million, Seylan Merchant Bank (Non Voting) 0.37 million and
Ceylinco Insurance 0.25 million. While, top contributors to the turnover
were Ceylinco Insurance Rs 44.9 million, ACL Cables Rs 6.78 million and
Commercial Bank Rs 6.13 million.
Meanwhile, Hatton National Bank (HNB) will issue debentures probably
this week. Normally, banks issue debentures when there is a mismatch
between interest earning assets and interest earning liabilities. Under
the Central Bank ruling on Basel-2 requirement, HNB will list 26,896,445
unsecured subordinated redeemable debentures.
The debentures of the HNB will be listed on June 13. on the Debt
Securities- Second Board of the CSE, sources said. (HHS) |
