137 development projects in progress
BALANGODA: One hundred and thirty seven rural development
projects, implemented under ‘Gemi Isura’ under the Sri Lanka Samurdhi
Authority in the Moneragala district are in progress, said W. M. P.
Wijaya Bandara Asst Commissioner of Samurdhi Moneragala district.
A sum of Rs. 99,266,736 has been allocated by the Samurdhi Authority
for these projects.
Under this programme 84 rural roads are being renovated and developed
at a cost of Rs. 54,030,185, 36 irrigation canals and anicuts are being
renovated at a cost of Rs. 20,146,082 10 courses over revers and streams
are being constructed at a cost of Rs. 10,733,780, 6 dilapidated tanks
at a cost of Rs. 3,844,625 are being renovated and developed, culverts
side walls and drains are being constructed at a cost of Rs. 1,372,429.
Two milk-collecting centres are also being constructed at a cost of
Rs. 1,084,729 and 5 waterworks are being constructed at a cost of Rs.
1,363,920. |
