Moratuwa Mayor responds to People's Voices, says complaint forwarded
to chief engineer
COLOMBO: Moratuwa Mayor W. Samanlal Fernando responding to the
May 25 complaint in the 'Peoples Voices' column by S. A. P. Fernando
regarding manholes not having lids, said he has informed the Road
Development Authority Chief Engineer to look into this.
Residents of Van Rooyen Street told People's Voices that following a
complaint about a blocked manhole, the Colombo Municipal Council
officials visited the location on May 18 and 19 but up to date no
remedial action had been taken. Meanwhile, given here are the number of
complaints the Daily News People's Voices column has received since this
