Govt. to fill all engineer vacancies

COLOMBO: The Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry will fill all vacancies for engineers in various departments, ministries, District Secretariats and institutions under Provincial Councils.

According to sources, more than 150 vacancies in the Grade 11/11 of the Sri Lanka Engineering Service are yet to be filled.

Engineering Services Director Engineer Dr. K.M.P.S. Bandara said the gazette notification containing the vacancies has been released and applications will be accepted till June 25.

The Ministry hopes to hold an open competitive examination in connection with the recruitment.

Ministry sources said a number of statutory organisations have faced various difficulties in engaging the projects under the Gama Neguma rural development acceleration project due to the shortage of engineers.
