H'tota sea port stone laying on June 7

TISSAMAHARAMA: The plaque will be unveiled and the foundation
stone for the proposed sea port at Hambantota will be laid on 7th June
at 7.30 a.m. by the Minister of Ports and Aviation Chamal Rajapaksa.
This was revealed at a meeting held at the Chief Minister's office in
Hambantota on June 1 presided over by the Vice Chairman, Ports Authority
B. Wickrama.
A pirith chanting ceremony will be held on 6th June followed by Heel
dana on 7th morning. The foundation will be laid on 7th at 7.30
auspicious time, a plaque will also be unveiled.
Ministers and MPs of all parties will be invited for the function and
the respective Governors will be invited. The Ministers, MPs, Provincial
Council members and PS Chairmen of Galle, Matara, Hambantota, Ratnapura
and Moneragala districts will also be invited.
The foundation stone will be laid for the proposed sea port at
Mirijjawila on Adi Seeya road.
The Minister of Water Supply Mahinda Amaraweera will also
participate. The District Secretary Hambantota R. M. D. B. Meegasmulla,
coordinators to President, Upul Dissanayaka and Gamini Somachandra were
present for the meeting. |
