JKH profit before tax up by 11 pc

PROFIT: Group revenue increased 12 per cent to Rs. 32.86 billion and the Group's profit before interest and tax increased by 26 per cent to 6.11 billion.

Profit attributable to equity holders of the parent increased by 16 percent to Rs.3.53 billion while diluted earnings per share increased by 14 per cent to Rs. 6.05. Total assets grew 67 per cent to Rs. 65.95 billion and total shareholder return for the year was 39.7 per cent.

The Transportation industry group performed well on the back of strong performance by the Ports and Shipping and Transportation sectors.

The performance of the Leisure industry group was affected by the escalation of hostilities in Sri Lanka and the consequent travel advisories.

Performance of the property industry group relative to the previous year was lower due to the revenue recognition cycle of the business and Consumer Foods and Retail recorded a strong growth driven by the performance of the beverage and processed meats businesses.
