Thrilling win for Don Bosco SC

SOCCER: Don Bosco Sports Club Negombo scored a thrilling 2-1 victory over Badulla Comrades Sports Club in their Premier League “A” division Football encounter played at the Vincent Dias Stadium in Badulla, recently.

An ugly scene during the second period of the game forced the referee to stop play for about ten minutes as a spectator entered into the field and attempted to assault a visiting team player. On the run of play the home team adopted robust tactics and as a result the referee had to use one red card and yellow cards against seven players.

Jagath Kumara and Sadeep Miranda scored for the visitors while the only goal for the home team came off the boot of Mohamed Zinas.

S. Dammika Lokuge from Gampola was in charge of the whistle.
