Premier condemns LTTE Ratmalana attack

COLOMBO: Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake condemned the LTTE bomb attack at Ratmalana on Monday, a statement released by his office said.

This bomb attack during the rush hour on the Galle Road and the bomb attack at Reclamation Road, a few days earlier, is a clear demonstration of the utter callousness and savagery and desperation of the LTTE terrorists who are now being defeated and beaten back by the Government’s Armed Forces in the East.

In their desperation, the terrorists are now targeting innocent civilians in the South.I call upon the patriotic people to extend all possible support to our heroic Armed Forces and police in the execution of their duties.

I extend my deepest sympathies to the families of those who died in the bomb blast and I wish a speedy recovery for the injured, the statement said.
