Grama Sevaka re-remanded

Helping suicide bomber

COLOMBORambukkana Grama Sevaka Hemapala Ariyaratne who allegedly prepared a National Identity Card for the LTTE woman suicide bomber who attempted to assassinate Army Commander Sarath Fonseka was further remanded till June 6 by Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Namal Bandara Balalle yesterday.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) probing the incident yesterday filing a further report before court, said they have recorded several statements in connection with issuing the NIC to the LTTE woman suicide bomber by the Grama Sevaka.

The dossier of the investigations will be forwarded to the Attorney General for further action, CID told Court. Jayantha Dias Nanayakkara appeared for the Grama Sevaka.

The case will be called on June 6.
