Rockets destroy seven oil tankers near Pakistan border
PAKISTAN: A rocket attack by suspected pro-Taliban militants
in a Pakistani border town Monday gutted seven tankers carrying fuel for
foreign troops in Afghanistan, officials said.
Militants fired several rockets as dozens of supply trucks and fuel
tankers were waiting to cross the northwestern Torkham border, a local
administration official said.
“The attack triggered a fire and at least seven tankers were
destroyed and three others damaged,” the official said, requesting
anonymity.
Police arrested an Afghan refugee and three local tribesmen, he
added.
