Omar presents at CIMA Business Leaders’ Summit

SPEECH: CIMA Sri Lanka Division is proud to announce Ashroff Omar as a paper presenter at the CIMA Business Leaders’ Summit 2007. Omar will present a paper entitled ‘The journey to greatness begins with your customer’.

The Business Leaders Summit, which will take place on June 6-8 at the BMICH and is CIMA Sri Lanka Division’s flagship national conference. This year the Business summit is based on the theme “Good to Great” and will explore how individuals can take their performance and their organisations to greatness.

Omar is the Chief Executive Officer of Brandix Lanka, the holding company of the Brandix Group.

He is a leading industrialist and a prominent personality in the apparel industry having made his mark both in Sri Lanka and internationally.

With an annual consolidated Group turnover of over USD 320 million for the financial year ended March 2007, Brandix has recently been recognised by the Export Development Board as Sri Lanka’s largest apparel exporter.

The Group employs over 20,000 associates directly, while generating indirect employment to an equivalent number and is supported by over 25 integrated manufacturing facilities backed by strategically located international sourcing offices.

With a vision ‘To be The Inspired Solution for Branded Clothing’, the Group’s command of its supply chain in both woven and knits is its key strength; this includes Apparel Manufacturing and Finishing, Design and Development, Fabric and Accessories including thread, buttons and hangers.

This has been facilitated via strategic acquisitions, joint-ventures and investments linked to its core-business of apparel manufacturing and leveraging on vendor partnerships.

The primary reason attributed to the Group’s success is its effective management of strategic customer relationships. The presentation will emphasise the importance of customer-centric decision-making, whilst sharing insights on its practical implications.
