Amadeus business growth increased by 5.5 p.c.
RESULTS: Amadeus, which operates in Sri Lanka as well,
announced the business results for the 12 months ending December 31,
2006 and the total bookings grew by 5.5 per cent to 499.5 million.
Online air bookings grew by 25.5 per cent and now represent 16.2 per
cent of the total air bookings. Amadeus had 31 per cent of the market in
travel agency air bookings in 2006, up 1.74 percentage points,
year-on-year. The total revenue grew by 10.9 per cent, to EUR 2,683 m.
President and CEO, Amadeus, Jose Antonio Tazon said, “Investment in

were 18 months ago, when we left the stock exchange.

airlines, travel agencies, hotels and the full range of customers we
serve, continues to keep our solutions ahead of the marketplace.”
In 2006, Amadeus migrated a further four airlines to Amadeus Altea
Customer Management Solution, to take the total number of airlines,
using our next-generation customer management technology to 29. |
