Thera commends Lake House services towards Buddhist cause
T.D. Sirisena Maharagama Group Corr.
BELLANWILA: Lake House has rendered a commendable service
towards the Buddhist cause from the time of its inception. Publication
of the ‘Budusarana’, the Buddhist weekly and periodicals like ‘Aloko
Udapadi’, ‘Dinamina Vesak Annual’ and ‘Buddha Pradeepa’ are important
landmarks of this service, said Sri Jayewardenepura University
Chancellor Ven. Prof. Bellanwila Wimalaratana Thera.
He was delivering an anusasana at the Bellanwila Raja Maha Viharaya
to mark the launching of the ‘Dharmadeshana Mala 12th edition’ (a
collection of Buddhist discourses) published by the Lake House
yesterday. The first copy of the edition was handed over to Ven. Prof.
Wimalaratana Thera by Lake House Acting Chairman and Editorial Director
Sarath Kongahage.
Ven. Prof. Wimalaratana Thera said Buddhist publications go a long
way to quench the thirst for dhamma knowledge among the world at large.
Lake House taking the lead in this direction will be acclaimed by both
buddhists and non-buddhists.
Ven. Prof. Wimalaratana Thera who said that the Dharmadeshana Mala
edition had been presented in a manner that would create constant reader
interest thanked its Editor Ruwan D. Araththanage for a job well done.
He said religious publications of this nature was a great blessing for
the current era which has witnessed a severe degeneration of moral and
spiritual values.
Ven. Prof. Wimalaratana Thera said the Lake House efforts to create a
Buddhist Revival by organising an ‘Amadahara Vesak Zone’ in the Fort
area should also be highly acclaimed by all.
Lake House DGM (Human Resources) Narada Sumanaratne, Marketing
Research and Periodicals Manager Sumedha Arunashantha and Dinamina Co-ordinating
Editor and Dharmadeshana Mala editor Ruwan D. Araththanage were also
present. |
