Bentota Serendib recommences services

REOPENING: Serendib Hotel Bentota would reopen on August 1 after a Rs.
25 million refurbishment. Hotel Serendib was closed for refurbishment
since March 2007.
The hotel also found a partner the Anantara group in Thailand (Minor
International of Thailand) recently, which

bought 19.75 shares of the
company. Serendib Leisure Management Ltd will continue to manage Hotel
Serendib.
The investment includes the construction of luxury suites and two new
deluxe rooms designed in-line with Anantara design standards. The total
number of rooms will now be 89.
The partner who was planning to rebrand the property has now put on
hold said Manager - Marketing Serendib Leisure Hotels Thishani Jayatunge.
It is said that this decision has been arrived at mainly due to
Travel Advisories in some key generating markets against travelling to
Sri Lanka.
She said that the hotel would also be operating the Spa and is also
looking to manage it. |
