LTTE child soldier surrenders

BATTICALOA: A female LTTE child soldier has surrendered to the Security Forces at Sithandy on Monday following the LTTE’s severe defeat in the East, a spokesman from the Media Centre for the National Security said.

According to him, the child soldier has been identified as V.B. Shandani, 15, a resident of Sandaveli area. Shandani had revealed that she was trained at a female Tiger training camp known as Panchchimarchani in Thoppigala area.

She said she escaped and surrendered to the Forces as the LTTE had faced a severe defeat in the Thoppigala area,” he said.

The Eravur police are investigating.
