Getamuratha, Sriyalatha win Anuradhapura tour

CYCLING: 'Singer Rajarata Cycle Tour - 2007" sponsored and
organised by Singer (Sri Lanka) Ltd and Sports Ministry was held on a
rand scale for the 18 successive year at Anuradhapura recently. The
highlight here was that and runners-up in both male and female events
were from Anuradhapura.
G. G. S. K. Getamurutha and U. D. Sriyalatha won the men's and
women's events respectively. The male riders rode a distance of 140 k.m.
while it was 50 k.m. for women. F. Sumedha Rangana and S. P. Caldera
were the first and second runners-up in the men's race.
W. K. Pusparani and Ayesha Ruchirangani were the first and second
runners-up in the women's event. Provincial Sports Minister R. M. P. B.
Ratnayake, Ministry Secretary M. K. B. Dissanayaka, Singer Sales Manager
Asitha Abesekara gave away the awards to the winners.
First, second and third placed riders received cycles, cash awards
and singer products while from 4th to 10th received cash awards. |
