Air Force pounds LTTE gun positions

JAFFNA: Air Force jets pounded two identified LTTE gun
positions causing heavy damage to the Tigers in Jaffna and Mullaitivu
lastmorning, Air Force spokesman Group Captain Ajantha Silva said.
According to Group Captain Silva, the targets were destroyed
following accurate and precise ground information given to the Air
Force.
The first Air Force strike destroyed an LTTE mortar position South of
Pallai, Muhamalai area in Jaffna yesterday at around 10.30 a.m,,
following a mortar attack launched by LTTE cadres at the Muhamalai army
FDL’s on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, the second air strike destroyed the LTTE defence centre
for anti aircraft weapons in Theravikulam, Northwest of Puthukudiyiruppu
area in Mullaitivu yesterday at around 10.40 a.m.
This was the third attack conducted by the Air Force this week. |
