Duty on petrol removed

COLOMBO: The Government has removed the Rs.20 customs duty on each litre of petrol with immediate effect on the instructions of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The Customs has already been informed of this decision by Treasury Secretary Dr. P.N. Jayasundera, the Finance and Planning Ministry said yesterday.
