Jesus saved me

He could have come down

from the cross

He could have ended the pain

But even hanging on the cross

He only thought of me

He saw my weak

and sinful soul

Which only he could save

So he bore my sin

upon the cross

And died to set me free

Whippings, lashings

everything

Was borne for love of me

For the pain he bore

up in the cross

Was endured to set me free.

Just a step he

could have taken

Just a word he

could have spoken

To end that endless pain

But even hanging

on the cross

He only thought of me

Today with tears

I will remember

All what he suffered for me

For the life he gave

up in the cross

Is the life that set me free.
