INDIA: Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja joining his former
teammate Navajot Singh Sidhu, in support of the Sri Lankan cricket team,
slammed Amnesty International for its unethical tactics against the Sri
Lankan cricket team at the World Cup.
Jadeja told the Daily News: “Sri Lanka is the most balanced side in
the World Cup. I feel Sri Lanka has the best chance to win the World
Cup. What this Organisation is trying to do at the World Cup is wrong.
They are trying to stop a growing child, a healthy child. Whatever
they are planning to do they can do it elsewhere and after the World
Cup. They should keep off the World Cup and cricket.”
“I say to them, don’t stop the sport. It is unethical to do such
things. The Sri Lankan team is doing very well and these types of
schemes are not good and healthy. But, I know this type of activities
will not upset the Sri Lankan cricket team,” the former Indian cricketer
said.
Jadeja added that no organisation should be allowed to upset the
cricket since the Sri Lankan team was performing well at the World Cup.
Earlier, Navjot Singh Sidhu came hard on the human rights organisation.
Sidhu urged the organisation to stick to their work elsewhere without
belittling themselves at the World Cup.
