NDB deal helps turnover to top Rs. 2b
CSC: The turnover of the Colombo Stock Exchange exceeded Rs. 2
billion yesterday due to a mega transaction of over 8 million National
Development Bank (NDB) shares.
The indices also moved up with the All Share Price Index closing at
2,804 points gaining 14.19 points while the Milanka Price Index
increased by 6.63 points to close at 3,844.19 points.
The NDB deal contributed about Rs. 1.5 billion to the day's turnover.
Over one million shares of DFCC bank also traded yesterday.
Dealers said that Edelweiss Capital based in India bought about 10
percent of NDB. The same party has bought a stake of DFCC Bank, dealers
said.
