PAKISTAN skipper Inzamam Ul-Haq, Team Manager Talat Ali and Assistant
Coach Mustaq Ahamed were questioned by the Jamaican Police,
investigating the murder of Bob Woolmer, their coach.
They were later allowed to leave Trinidad with the rest of the team.
The trio were asked to detail their activities before Woolmer’s
strangling in his Kingston Hotel room.
According to Pakistan spokesman Jamil Mir, general questions about
their movements, what they were doing and at what time they went to bed,
on the night before Woolmer was found dead.
“There was nothing extraordinary. The police just wanted to fill in
some blanks,” said Mir. According to Jamaican Police, Deputy
Commissioner, the questioning of team members was a general procedure.
Police have asked witnesses if any to come forward and they have not
identified any suspects.
Ivo Tennant, co-author of Woolmer’s autobiography has denied that
Woolmer was murdered because he was writing a book that would expose
gambling in cricket.
According to Police, more than one an individual would have killed
and they are reviewing security camera video.
Those involved in the alleged murder had entered Woolmer’s room
without force which points to the fact that Woolmer would-known his
killer or killers.
