Tea seminar by ASMET
SEMINAR: After a very successful seminar last year by the
Association of Small and Medium Exporters of Tea (ASMET) covering all
aspects of the tea trade specifically targeting the small time exporters
and the problems faced by them and how to avoid them, another seminar on
a very important aspect of international trade is to be covered by a
seminar to be held on March 28 starting at 8 a.m. at the auditorium of
the National Chamber of Commerce. It includes a visit to a Hazard
Analysis Critical Control Points, HACCP approved packing plant.
The subject chosen this year is how to meet the HACCP requirements
for tea exports in the international trade. This criteria is gaining
considerable importance in the international tea trade.
It is also fast reaching the end of the grace period given by EU, UK,
USA, and JAPAN. Many small time exporters were constrained to delay
registration under HACCP due to the heavy initial cost.
Therefore this seminar is geared to guide participants away from this
belief with ways and means of achieving international standards. |
