Kidney patient needs help
KANDANA: Roxy Hansay (58), father of one, of 15/7, St.
Bernadeth Mawatha, Rilaulla, Kandana is suffering from an acute renal
failure. Doctors treating him have recommended an urgent kidney
transplant to save his life.
He needs a A positive kidney to facilitate this surgery. His family

MA, MSSc Degree courses in Archaeology
MAY: The faculty of Social Sciences, University of Kelaniya
will launch Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Social Sciences (MSSc)
degree courses in Archaeology.
The courses meant to upgrade national cultural and heritage through
academic research will cover many areas such as management of
archaeological, heritage, used of computers in archaeology, irrigation
and water management.
The courses are conducted during weekends.
Labour Minister Geneva bound
COLOMBO: Labour Relations and Manpower Minister Athauda Seneviratne
will leave for Geneva today to participate in the 298 session of the
International Labour Organization.
He is also expected to visit the Administrative Authority of ILO,
Turin in Italy.
BASL concern of abductions, killings
COLOMBO: The Executive Committee of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka
(BASL) expressed its concern regarding the unprecedented number of extra
Judicial killings and abductions in the country and unanimously resolved
to request the Government to take prompt and meaningful action to
prevent such killings and abductions and to bring those responsible
before the Courts of Law.
Test for Teachers’ Service today

COLOMBO: The written test to absorb to the Teachers Service will be
held today, in Colombo and Nuwara Eliya Districts. The Samurdhi
Development officers (Special Service) and Police officers who are
performing their duties as teachers at present are qualified to sit the
test.
The admission papers have been sent by now to the candidates, said
Anura Edirisinghe the Commissioner General of the Department of
Examinations. Further clarification could be obtained regarding the test
from the Department of Examinations.
Recruitment test

COLOMBO: The recruitment test to Management Assistant Service Grade
III for North Western and Central provinces will be held on Saturday 31
by the Department of Examinations.
The Department of Examinations has scheduled to conduct the test in
five districts. Centres for North Western province will be established
in Puttalam and Kurunegala districts while the Central Province test
will be held in Kandy, Matale and Nuwara Eliya districts. Around 15,000
candidates are qualified to sit the recruitment test.
Efficiency Bar exams

COLOMBO: The Efficiency Bar of Management Assistant Service Grade II
will be held on March 31, by the Department of Examinations.
According to the Examination Department sources the examination will
be held in many centres throughout the country.
‘Computer Literacy Written test’ and Efficiency Bar for the officers
of Management Assistants Service Grade III will also be held on March
31. Around 4,200 candidates will be participated.
Recommencement of academic activities
COLOMBO: The academic activities for the second, third and fourth
year students of the faculty of Arts and for the second and third year
students of the faculty of Management and Finance will re-commence on
Monday.
All hostellers are requested to report to the hostels tomorrow,
