UNP suspensions:

Court further extends enjoining order

COLOMBO: Colombo District Court Judge Aruna C. Ranasinghe yesterday extended the enjoining orders until April 4, that were issued against UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe preventing him suspending 11 UNP MPs who joined the Government from the UNP working Committee and from its membership. The Court extended the order when the UNP pleaded for a postponement.

The Court on an earlier date issued two enjoining orders preventing the suspension of Karu Jayasuriya, G.L. Pieris, Bandula Gunawardana, Rajitha Senaratne, Milinda Moragoda, Gamini Lokuge, Neomal Perera, M.M. Musthafa, Mano Wijeratne, P. Dayaratne and Hemakumara Nanayakkara from the UNP Working Committee and the membership of the UNP by means of a letter dated February 7, signed by Ranil Wickremesinghe.
