Two LTTE terrorists surrender

BATTICALOA: Two LTTE cadres from Thoppigala, surrendered to the Security Forces at Black Bridge in Chenkaladi yesterday morning, a spokesman for the Media Centre for National Security said yesterday.

According to him Sothinathan Jegatheesan 16, and Parameshwara Suresh Kumar 27, surrendered to the Security Forces after fleeing the uncleared areas along with eight other cadres.

However they have told the Security Forces they lost contacts with the others as they reached cleared areas in Batticaloa.

They have revealed the LTTE is undergoing severe food and medicine shortage in the Thoppigala jungles as they have faced severe set backs in the face of Security Forces operations in the Thoppigala jungles.

They said many junior cadres are deserting the organisation as many leaders from Wanni had left the area realising the fact that they cannot face the Security Forces.
