Cabinet memorandum on In-Service Advisors’ Service

COLOMBO: A Cabinet Memorandum was submitted by Education Minister Susil Premajayantha on 22.08.2006 for the establishment of the In-Service Advisors’ Service.

Accordingly it was decided on 13.09.2006 that the Education Ministry Secretary should discuss these matters further with the Treasury Secretary for taking necessary action for the establishment of the In-Service Advisors’ Service.

The Education Ministry Secretary thereupon held preliminary discussions, in terms of the decision of the Cabinet taken on 13.09.2006 with the Director General of the Management Service Department as the representative of the Treasury Secretary and other officers.

Further discussions were held on 12.3.2007 by the Secretary of the Ministry of Education with a group of representatives of the In-Service Advisors’ Union. Action is being taken now to submit the information obtained in these discussions again by the Education Minister to the Cabinet, a media release from the Ministry said.
