Sulanga screened in Kurunegala today

COLOMBO: Bennet Ratnayake’s Sinhala film ‘Sulanga’ will be screened at the Imperial Theatre, Kurunegala today (March 15) at 6 p.m. as part of the workshop on the Sinhala Cinema Industry held in the outstations to coincide with the 31st Sarasaviya Film Festival on April 5.

Sanath Gunatilleke, Dilhani Asokamala, Chandanie Seneviratne, Roger Seneviratne, Palitha Perera and Sathya Ratnayake are featured in this film among others. Many leading artistes of the film will be present at the 6 p.m. show for which entrance will be free.

The Kurunegala Sarasaviya festival will feature the films ‘Bherunda Pakshiya’ on March 16, ‘Nilambare’ on March 17 and ‘Hiripoda Wessa’ on March 18.

The Matara Sarasaviya Festival will open at the New Cinema, Matara on March 21 while the Kandy festival will open at the Regal Cinema, Kandy on March 22.

Sarasaviya Popular Film Week will begin on March 26 at the Regal cinema, Colombo and the Sarasaviya Film Awards Ceremony will take place on April 5 at the BMICH. The People’s Bank has joined hands to sponsor the event.
