Austria to help develop drainage systems in Colombo

COLOMBO: The Sri Lankan Government signed an agreement with
Bank Austria Creditnastlet A.P Institute to rehabilitate and develop the
garbage and drain systems in the Colombo South area.
Austrian Government Relief loan scheme will provide funds for this
project.Sri Lankan Government will receive 10.9 million euros. Under the
project where a new tank will be built at Wellawatte. The drains along
in Galle road, Havelock Road, Duplication Road and Beach roads will be
developed and rehabilitated.
The projects will be conducted under the supervision and involvement
of the Water Board. The projects are expected to be completed within
thirty months.
R.A. Jayathissa Deputy Secretary to the Treasury signed the agreement
representing Sri Lankan Government and senior advisor Toon Auan and
senior manager Susan Kunitas of Bank Austria Creditnastlet signed on
behalf of the Institute. |
