Top price for Medawatta tea

RECORD PRICE: The Rattota, Medawata state planation has got the highest offer for its BoP number 1 tea. This estate was able to earn Rs. 296 per kilo of tea at the auction held on February 28.

Although there were many estates of State Plantation Corporations and Janatha Wathu Sanwardhane Mandalaya which took part in the auction, Medawatta state plantation dominated the auction by establishing a highest bid for its number one quality tea.
