ACTING MINISTERS


A group of 13 Acting Ministers took oaths before Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake. Acting Minister of Defence, Public Security and Law and Order at the Prime Minister’s Office on February 26. Community Development and Social Inequality Eradication Acting Minister P. Radhakrishnan, Enterprise Development and Investment Promotion Acting Minister Mano Wijeratne and Mass Media and Information acting Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena were the three acting Ministers who were sworn in. Another 16 Deputy Ministers and non-cabinet Ministers are due to be sworn in as acting Ministers before the Premier.

The following MPs were sworn-in as Deputy Ministers by Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake on February 27 morning at the Prime Minister’s Office. (From left): Rohitha Abeygunawardana MP as Acting Minister of Nation Building and Estate Infrastructure Development, Muttu Sivalingam MP as Acting Minister of Youth Empowerment and Socio Economic Development, Rohana Kumara Dissanayake MP as Acting Minister of Urban Development and Sacred Area Development. Faizer Musthafa MP as Acting Minister of Tourism, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya MP as Acting Minister of Finance and Planning, M.M. Mushtafa MP as Acting Minister of Higher Eduction, Hussein Bahila MP as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lasantha Alagiyawanna MP as Acting Minister of Transport, Cegu Issadeen MP as Acting Minister of Export Development and International Trade and Mahinda Amaraweera MP as Acting Minister of Water Supply and Drainage.
