China plans to renovate BMICH

COLOMBO: The Chinese Government has planned for a massive renovation of the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH). This was announced by the Chinese Ambassador in Sri Lanka at the 50th Anniversary of completing Diplomatic ties between China and Sri Lanka.

Director General BMICH Convention and Exhibition Centre Bandula Ekanayake said a Chinese team has already carried out preliminary inspection recently to ascertain the requirements. However, the estimated cost is not yet known and he is awaiting to receive their proposal.

“The Ambassador extended his fullest support to improve the BMICH with more facilities and it is for the first time that the BMICH is to undergo a major renovation in its 35 years history,” Ekanayake said.
