Lokuhettige (178 n.o.) help Moors reach 400

CRICKET: Dilhara Lokuhettige with an unbeaten knock of 178 lifted Moors to a massive score of 400 for seven against NCC in the first day of their match on the Premier League Super Eight match played at Moors SC Ground yesterday.

Lokuhettige’s brilliant innings included 10 sixes and 17 boundaries and he teamed up with Rangana Herath to form an outstanding 138 run eighth wicket partnership.

Herath was 55 not out at the end of the day. Bhatiya Perera scored 74 runs for Moors.

Sanjaya lifts Bloomfield

Bloomfield CC made a competitive total of 244 runs over Colts CC with Sanjaya Gangodawila making most of the runs at the Colts ground yesterday. Gangodawila scored 92 runs with Tharaka Gunaratne (50) and shanuka Dissanayaka (40) also making valuable contributions for Bollmfield.

Sajeewa Weerakon helped the home team to bring down the visitors with a fine five-wicket haul for 50 runs.

CCC in strong position

CCC was in a strong position with 246 for 3 against Sinhalese Sports Club at the CCC ground yesterday.

Nisal Randika’s contribution with a fine knock of 89 was the best for CCC. Duminda Ranaweera also helped build their innings with 65 runs and Michael Vandort with 40 runs.

Kaushal Lokuarchchi, Sachithra Senanayake and Shalika Karunanayake got a wicket each.

CCC: 246 for 3 (Nisal Randika 89, Duminda Ranaweera 65, Michael Vandort 40)

Ranga 6/43 rout Ragama CC

Ragama CC could not make a great total against Tamil Union on the first day at BOI ground Katunayake.

Ranga Dias was the demolished the Ragama CC baging six wickets for 43 runs. Ruwan Dilruk was the only one who was among the runs with 33 runs.

Tamil Union too was in trouble with the score on 116 for 7 at the end of the first day.

Ragama CC: 124 (Ruwan Dilruk 33, Kaushalya Weerarathne 19, Ranga Dias 6 for 43)

Tamil Union: 116 for 7 (Lanka De Silva 49, Dharshana Ganegama 3 for 35)
